In 1986 Peter, in partnership, bought Ross & Galloway Property. Over the next 20 years Peter built the firm into the most successful single-office, independent agency in their market. He built the business to the point that it became a smooth running, profitable business with written systems and procedures allowing Peter and partner, Sheila, to profitably manage its operations without taking an active selling role.
Peter has been involved with the Real Estate Institute for many years both as an arbitrator and as an elected councillor. Since the 1980’s he has had a strong influence in the development of documents and forms for the Institute.
Peter is a respected business and community leader. He was for many years a prominent member of a local service organisation and has always had an active involvement with the local community. He was nominated for the City of Melville’s Citizen of the Year Award in 2006.
Peter was born in Scotland and as a younger man spent some time at sea before working his way around the world doing jobs which nowadays would be considered in the worst possible taste; logging in Canada, whaling in Albany and then a couple of years diamond drilling in the north. Peter and his wife Sheila are both keen sailors and have completed a circumnavigation of Australia.
